This documentation uses consistent conventions to help you identify items throughout the printed online library.

Convention	Specifying
Straight brackets, as in [value]	Optional command parameters
Curly braces, as in {value}	Required command parameters
Logical OR, as in value 1 \| value 2	Exclusive command parameters where only one of the options can be specified
