OneLogin now allows for flexible localization options for the end-user portal. What this means is that the account owner can now change which language is set as the default displayed language for their end-users. Aside from the default language, the administrator can also now define a selection of languages available for each end-user to switch to if they so desire.
This is also incredibly useful in the case of, for instance, multiple languages being spoken in the same office, or when an organization is contracting out to group that may not share the same language.
Note: The translations will only modify what the end-user sees through his or her portal. Administrative and control settings will remain in English for the admin of the account.
Enabling and Configuring Localization
As the account administrator, navigate to Settings > Account Settings and proceed to the Localization tab.
Here you'll find the setting to enable localization for languages beyond English. With localization enabled, you can now set the default language to any of the languages seen below. Furthermore, toggling any of the languages allows only those selected languages to be available to end-users. This is a useful control when, for instance, a country has offices in the United States, Denmark, and Japan, and only has users speaking one of those three languages.
For the End-User
With the localization taking effect mostly at the end-user experience, let's detail what your users will be seeing once its enabled.
Upon first logging in, your user will find their login page to be displayed in the localized language. This can be changed by the end-user within their Profile page, found by selecting the user's name in the upper right-hand corner.
Below is an example profile page that's been localized to Danish, as shown under the Preferred language dialogue box, or in this case, Fortrukket sprog.
This will allow both administrators and users more control over their personal OneLogin experience. It will also provide for advanced usability when deployed in an environment where multiple languages exist.
Remember, OneLogin's localizations settings will always default to the localization and language settings within the browser. As soon as the admin enables localization, the default language set within OneLogin will trump whatever language settings are configured for the browser.
