Once you enable SAML in G Suite (formerly Google Apps), users can no longer change the password that their POP3/IMAP mail client uses to retrieve mail.
Make sure to enter your administrator email and password when setting up the app, as this is required for users to set their mail client password via the dashboard. End users will complete this step by editing the G Suite login using the pencil icon and then selecting Change Password.
- The provisioning API must be enabled for your G Suite account.
- The credentials used for changing passwords must be that of a G Suite account Super Admin.
- You must log in to G Suite as this user to accept the user agreement.
