Perhaps by group;
Biz apps
Content Apps
Productivity Apps
The idea is not permissions although that would be useful to the integration, but rather layout and user experience considerations.

Basically you'd make a user part of multiple groups, this way you assign apps based on the permission level of the group they are a part of. Then their dashboard layout will be more easily navigable.
@Joshua I think we are basically asking for the same thing - see http://support.onelogin.com/entries/130535-support-for-further-coll...
I agree! As the Admin for my company, I'd like to create sub-headings and group our COMPANY apps. Furthermore, it would be nice to allow the users to create sub-headings and group their PERSONAL apps.
For example:
Social Apps (Twitter, Facebook, Ning, YouTube, TubeMogul, etc)
Email Apps (Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, etc)
Finance Apps (Bank of America, Chase Bank, WellsFargo Bank, Mint.com, etc)
One last thought... Another idea is to allow users the ability to reorganize the order of the apps. Maybe a cool type of drag-n-drop feature.
We have looked at different ways of grouping apps. We are leaning towards letting each user customize their own dashboard using drag and drop. Any other scheme will most likely be too rigid.
I want this too!
I want this too! [2] :)
I'm all for organizing the dashboard into more than just two groups-work and personal.
Another thought. Make the organization totally free form for the user and not tied to groups or roles. Some may like roles, some groups, I would organize by my projects, so allow the advanced user the options to create their own organizational experience.
As someone who manages all apps centrally for my users, to be able to just group apps by Role would be nice. I guess they could then still customize the groupings on their own portal page after they are made accessible to them. Essentially, to have it locked down by administrator would be nice because I can always guarantee how the portal would look for a new user, etc. Thanks.
I second the notion of having an admin define the default appearance with a user being able to configure as desired.
We have so many apps now it's really a pain to look through them all the time without some kind of structuring on the portal. We have created a wiki page that strcutures the apps now, but keeping that up-to-date is annoying.
When is this feature going to be implemented? It's been "planned" for a while. I'd be very happy about it.
